re Edey: What do people actually see here that he can do with Purdue that he won't be able to do in the NBA?

He's going to get low-post position. He's going to level some people on screens. He has damn good hands for 7-4. He clogs the lane on defense. He is 7-4.

I've heard some say, "Well, he's never going to be able to go chase down smalls." I don't see where he needs to chase down smalls, and I don't see where he needs to play like a 4 and cast up 24-footers.

I just don't see this playing out like Luke Timme, and I'm hearing a lot of variations on that.

We'll see in how many NBA games he draws 20 fouls while being whistled for . . . one.

Edey had a good game, and I am Edey-neutral. But he seemed to have a tough time making moves in the paint once he had the ball. Against Tennessee.

I finally just read that (edited) LA Times column by Ben Bolch. The overriding theme of the first half of the column is that the UCLA coach gives better access, and answers questions better than the LSU coach. Of all the who-gives-a-shit ideas that I am supposed to be concerned about, that is at the bottom of my list.

Who is Luke Timme? I’ve heard of Drew Timme, but no such luck with Luke.

He won't get as many calls, to be sure. But I certainly don't see it being so overwhelming that it would derail his career.

Take your damn like and hit the bricks, buddy.

Edey is very strong and coordinated for his size.

If he measures 7-4 by NBA teams, that makes him four-inches taller than most guys on most NBA teams.

Like it was posted above, most guys drafted in the 15-below range are shots in the dark. I think this kid is worth a shot.

    Yeah, just like Nebraska football.

Summit was a great, great coach. She also won (like Rupp at Kentucky on the men's side in another generation) at the only school in the SEC that really took her sport seriously, in an era before big, big money. She never had to coach league games against Mulkey and Staley, to name just two.

Should Tennessee have accomplished more? Probably. But the game has totally changed since she coached. The SEC's big TV money has enabled a lot of other programs to match or surpass Tennessee's investment in WBB.

While the men’s tournament is being dominated by UConn, the women’s tournament offers myriad storylines and matchups.

Right, Bill, because NC State and its miracle run isn't a story at all. Actually, it's the best freaking story of either tournament.

Maybe the NCAA should go back to just using the damn courts that are there instead of relentlessly branding everything. I'm surprised they let teams bring their own uniforms.
