Asteroid City. Terrific cast and cinematography.
But ... don't know what to think of the plot, yet.

The Iron Claw. I thought it was well done. What a tragic story. I went in knowing almost nothing about the family/story, so I don’t know if the well-informed have any issues with it.

I haven’t seen it yet, but I know the Von Erich story well.

There was a fourth brother who committed suicide in real life who was not included in the movie, for some reason. The youngest two were put into a composite character.

Seems very dumb to me, as the brother (Chris) who was omitted was probably the MOST representative of the story as a whole.

Oh, interesting. That does seem like an odd choice. I'll have to do a little more learning on it. I think a while back someone on here at mentioned a documentary on the family story. I assume a few are out there.

This is a good (but long) doc. It’s about the whole federation but is very heavy on the Von Erich story, for obvious reasons:

Just a cursory look, it appears the explanation by the filmmaker is that another (third) suicide in the movie would have been packing in TOO much grief. Which from a filmmaking standpoint I get, but it also makes what happened even more awful.

Tried to watch Downfall, which is 2-1/2 hours. Got halfway through and fast-forwarded the rest. Having to read the subtitles made it even more tedious. Like many of the characters, I also needed a drink.

Check out Anthony Hopkins in "The Bunker", 1981.

Saw Civil War. Great acting, wonderfully shot, one stupid silly script.

In a future where America is rent in two, armies on both sides will let journalists wander freely all over the battlefield with them... even when horrible war crimes are committed.

Just finished watching it. That movie was bonkers.

My son saw it, said it was entertaining … but the social commentary was undercut by journalists being action heroes.

He’s met enough of my colleagues (and, of course, me) to know better.

I saw Civil War over the weekend and agree with what's been said. I did enjoy the first 2/3 despite its flaws, but the last 1/3 ruined the redeeming qualities of the first 2/3. A horrible third act.

A don't even get me started on an aspiring photojournalist using film cameras from the 80's.
