At one stop, the SID of the local D-2 school sent us a press release using all the right buzz words, but not saying the coach had been fired. His wife was one of our accountants. Next time he was in the office, I complimented him on it. We both laughed.

 

USC has allegedly dispatched a plane to pick up Musselman. Introductory press conference for tomorrow.

I suppose I can just accept that Arkansas is a track school, with a pretty good regular-season baseball program.

 

I don't know what he has left on his contract but is it possible he was in that place of, you have another year like that and you're getting fired so I'll just leave and set up another longer term situation?

 

He's a job hopper. He sniffed around the DePaul and Louisville openings in previous seasons. Combine that with Arkansas struggling to fund NIL deals and it's not a shock he's taken a lesser gig just to get out of town.
