Jared Jones is down 2-0 on homers by Henderson and O'Hearn. But through five innings, he's thrown 67 strikes and 15 balls. Impressive.

 

According to the crawl, he called that a foul tip, not a called strike ("call on the field, foul ball"). But either way, it was an awful call. I do not know why they can't just fire this guy. The umpire's union can't be happy be continually makes them look like buffoons.

So, of course, I'm watching the top of the first in Charlotte. Holliday BB, Norby 1B, Kjerstad moon shot HR to right, Mayo BB, Stowers HR to center ... that's the first five hitters.

EDIT: This is also the first time I've seen the ball-strike challenge in practice. Interesting. It's very much like tennis with the video strike zone replay. And quick ... less than 30 seconds.
