Norfolk takes the field with a 10-0 lead. But hey, Charlotte hasn't hit yet.

The nasty stuff was never a question. Control has been the concern, so not walking anybody, especially against a strong lineup, is a very good sign.

Clearwater-Bradenton in person tonight for Gwen and myself. Yeah, the challenge is really interesting. The batter or catcher taps the helmet and the home plate ump turns around to get the replay decision from the press box. Fast and decisive.

Also saw a batter get rung up on a pitch clock violation. And Bradenton had five hits but none in the inning during which they scored their two runs, both on wild pitches after loading the bases twice with walks. That inning also included the catcher throwing a ball off the pitcher's glove into center field for an error and a 1-2 putout. Oh, and there were 29 strikeouts.

MLB probably loses Spencer Strider, Trevor Story, Luis Robert, and Eury Perez for quite some time.

And needs 10 innings to win, 11-10.

Angels helped by two Red Sox errors in the sixth, and Logan O'Hoppe hits a game-tying grand slam. 5-5 going into the seventh.

Oh, and Rendon legs out a grounder for his first hit of 2024.
