IF Vegas flops MLB may just put the team up for bid. MLB contacts cities they would consider expanding to like Portland, Charlotte, etc. and say who can make the best definitive offer will get the team and MLB and the A's will work out the rest.

The Nashville Stalking Horses struck out in their hopes of stealing the Orioles. So now they'll go hard for the White Sox. And if that fails in short order, maybe they can have the A's.
I'm still skeptical Nashville really wants a baseball team. The Braves are too entrenched, and the universal DH has really blurred the lines between AL and NL.

For Sacramento to happen, the team would need to be sold. Not a chance in California there would be enough public financing to make it work with that cheapskate at the helm. There’s a few spots in Sacramento I can think of that would be good spots to put a stadium but you’d need to privately fund it.

If Vegas falls apart, I’d love to see Joe Lacob but the team. He understands how to connect a team with fans and isn’t afraid to spend. He wanted it initially, but lost out. Greatest shame in the Bay Area in retrospect. Of course he won’t now. He’s got the Warriors and the new WNBA franchise. But I’d love to see it.

Rosenblatt Stadium was demolished almost 10 years ago. The zoo expanded into its footprint.

The CWS is now played at Charles Schwab Field in downtown Omaha, a soulless edifice that has absolutely none of the charm or ambiance of Rosenblatt.

VCU's field, is that shared with the AA Flying Squirrels?
SLC is a unique situation where they're building a new stadium for the PCL team in suburbia, but leaving behind a nice yard.

MLB has a bad history of approving some real scumbag owners. There really is no reason why the A's couldn't be more successful than the Giants - given that more of the Bay Area population could get to an A's game easier than a Giants game. Most of the "Giants were here first" fans have departed, the Coliseum area is ripe for redevelopment, fantastic freeway access and public transportation. Its really such a waste.

Yes, VCU and the Squirrels play at The Diamond. The new park they are building will be on the same site, which was also the site of the predecessor, Parker Field.

The A’s drew 3 million with McGwire and Canseco. Candlestick was as much of a (baseball) dump as the Coliseum.

Ugh. The increasing costs are a function of demand for the products. Fans have only themselves to blame for what they pay.

Does Montreal have a quasi-functioning stdium? Does baseball return to Montreal by default. Can baseball be player in the Vancouver stadium?

Unless the players are paid in U.S. dollars, this is a non-starter.
