That came off as unnecessarily snarky. Point stands, this tournament, with real stakes (Masters invite) has been pretty damn good. Everyone who plays on the PGA Tour is good. We need to get out of the collective mindset that the event sucks if X golfer (Rory, Spieth, JT, etc) isn’t contending. Good stories to be told.

Rahm urges 72-hole tournaments. New tour name: LXXII (pronounced LEXI. Paging the LPGA..)

I suppose I should hope Rahm wins this week, because that is going to nudge the PGA a little further toward re-unification.

But those LIV 54-hole, no-cut tournaments CAN rightfully fuck off.

You might be right but LIV-World, starting with Norman and filtering down to the LIV-bots online, have been dealing out the snark from the beginning.

If the tours unify it's safe to assume that LIV is dead right? I don't see any of the silliness whether its the 54-hole tournament, the dumb music, the team format or anything else sticking...So my question is have these guys gotten paid what LIV owes them? The PGA isn't paying Rahm $300M as some fucking appearance fee. They can boost up the purses even more, but I would imagine they are going to have to play for their salaries. Right?

    “850 million”
They could offer him 850 billion ….and he still wouldn’t go.
    Same with Tiger
Old jingle balls could walk into the room with a blank check, tell him to fill it out, and he still wouldn’t do it.

There's a number at some point. Rahm took it.

    Just settle this shit already.

I bet if you asked Rahm right now if he could go back on it, I bet he would.
    He just doesn’t look happy.

It is super clear that taking the LIV money is effectively ending your tour days. You get to play four important tournaments a year. You've been a star for years, and then you are suddenly banished to nothing tournaments where barely a person knows you exist.
The closest comp is (ironically) Anthony Kim, when he took the insurance money to then never play again on the PGA tour.
