The two guys hitting in front of him -- Rendon (.150) and Schanuel (.065), three guys if you count No. 9 hitter Neto (.200) -- are not getting on base at all.

Trout's excuse: Rendon batting in front of him.

I can see where Kutter Crawford could really mess up a hitter's timing. Most unique arm action I've seen since Josh Collmenter.

For the record, I am here for the ganging up on Rendon, even in the form of baseball thread D_B’s.

I just read Matt Holliday's wiki entry, which is structured like he led the life of Gandhi. Good grief.

To me, busting on Rendon is part of following the games every day. It's also fun to do.

Am I too much of a cynic for thinking this is all still too convenient?

It's extremely convenient, but that doesn't mean it's not true. On the other hand, a guilty plea and a few years in stir might seem preferable what'd happen if he didn't go along with the story. This one reeks of affinity fraud, like Bernie Madoff's victims being almost all Jewish. I can't believe the bookie wasn't Japanese, too. So probably I might do some time resting up in a federal pen than having the yakuza looking for me forever.
