I don't know if The Masters is "the greatest" of the majors, I do know it has the smallest fields of the four, and typically, a third of the players have no shot due to age or generally playing cruddy golf, but they are former champions so they play. What makes it "great" - honestly - is its played on the same course and depicted from the same camera locations they have been using since people first saw it as kids. Viewers feel they "know" the course. In a rapidly changing world, the event hasn't changed much since then - and it is refreshing to see a sports property not totally sell its soul for more sponsor or TV money.

Nice to see such a big asshole out to such a big lead. Really makes you question whether karma exists.

Agree. This is an Augusta National thing, not an ESPN/CBS thing. They just put it on the air. Notice you don't see a bottom line on the ESPN telecast.

Tiger hits against a tree trunk. Announcer: "I wish my eyes didn't work right."

And Spieth starts with a double on 1. Ouch.

His putting was fabulous. He missed a bunch of fairways but hit some really good recovery shots and made some difficult putts.

Don’t worry. He’ll barely make the cut, then shoot 70-66 on the weekend and finish third.

Ha, no doubt. Immelman noted that Rahm made double on his first hole last year, but Spieth has been over the place of late/a lot of his career.

The Masters app continues to be outstanding every year. My goodness it was done right.

No doubt. And the website where you can track players' shots -- perfect.

If not for The Masters every year, you'd never know IBM was still around. IBM basically paid for my college tuition, and my brother's scholarship.
