What's the Wordle?!

First Sunday NYT Crossword in under 20 minutes today.

 

Wordle in 2 for the second day in a row.

 

Got it in three. Stared at my black, black, yellow, green, black for way too long though

 

How did you get THAT WORD in two? the vowel placements were "odd" to say the least.

 

My first guess is

So I had the 4th and 5th green. Per the bot, there were only 3 guesses and the correct one is what immediately had come to mind.

 

I got that same vowel in the correct position - it kind of stalled me for a while.

 

That's the first time in a while that I essentially gave up on the final two moves. I didn't have a clue.

 

Got it in five but had to waste the fourth guess with an answer I knew was wrong, just to try to get some better idea of the letter placement.

One of the things I do love about NYT Connections is that like a great baseball pitcher, they mix in some curveballs with the high heat, you think, well that's just too damn obvious.

 

5.4 average today. Wow. I got it in 5

 

Count me among the 30 percent who didn't get it. Down to two words for the final guess, missed. Oh well.
