I'm not sure how the campus stuff is much different than the Viet Nam protests in the 60s/70s and less-intense protests over Iraq/Afghanistan.

Likely 10 percent bad/anti-Semitic actors who want total chaos and some who want to make it a wedge issue for the political left.

About 20 percent who are true believers and just want war and the killing of innocents to stop.

And about 70 percent bored, privileged college kids looking to get laid.

It's a big news story and should be covered as such. Though the way the hard-right is flogging the story makes me think they want to will it into being a bigger national issue than it actually is.

Taking a close look at the people who are screaming about it the most is always an excellent tell about the intent of such coverage.

Somebody needs to attend remedial Sunday School based on the mistakes in that tweet.

First Johnson, now MTG defying Fat Orange Hitler. Blood's in the water, eventually the bottom-feeders will eat him alive with fava beans and a nice chianti.

    The "clapclap, clap,clap,clap" is a bit much...Biden's no De-rek Jeee-ter.

Heard a student say they "vow to continue the protest until the end of the school year." I'm sure Palestinians wish they could count on Israel pulling out by then. I mean, shoot - why not keep the protests going? You've got your tents, the weather is only getting nicer, you don't need your dorm room anyway and without classes, you'll have more time to do the important work.

Every year on May Day I watch this amusing "arrangement" of the Soviet national anthem and wonder how many of the people in it have been thrown out of a window by Putin for this.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I have high confidence that Russia and other interested parties are actively sowing discord around the world via social media. Its not like the critical thinking skills of young people shouldn't be questioned when they will "join in" on other great movements like the milk crate challenge, the tide pod challenge and the piss your pants challenge.

If we are going to talk about being mindless, how about we talk about the fact that “college students” have become depersonalized avatars and sin eaters for everything middle aged and old folks don’t like about privilege and societal change. That helps explain why cops feel free to beat the shit out of them and many others treat it as sport because apparently it isn’t authoritarian violence when it happens to people you don’t like.

Can't like the last two posts enough.

The big difference between the Vietnam protests and these is that there are a ton of propaganda active measures, talking points being directly pumped in by enemy countries through social media that had no equivalent in 1968.
