Yeti coolers did this. No one needed much more than an Igloo or Coleman, because both have done the job for decades.

But Yeti did what Tervis tumblers (remember those?) did with the double-wall design, priced the heavy-ass coolers requiring a forklift to get them into the truck at insane prices, and made it a must-have, cachet, lifestyle item.

They sold a 5-gallon bucket for $40, a dog food bowl for $50 and a "brick" bottle opener for $50. These are the same people who will buy a $125 shirt for golf.

Byron Nelson is in a bad spot on the schedule.
Week before Signature Event then the PGA.
I’ve never understood why they just don’t play all 4 in Texas in consecutive weeks?…..instead of Valero and Houston the two weeks before The Masters……then 3 tournaments……now Byron……then back to Colonial (Fort Worth) the week after PGA.
They play 3 of 4 in California in straight weeks….abd the one that’s not is right next door.
And yes…….this Bibigo krap is dumb.
    Get AT&T back in.

The time to do this was 2005, not when he’s 48, with a busted ass body and playing in maybe six events a year. Not to mention, dude bros who want to spend that much on a shirt already have a brand for it: Peter Millar.

This is going to be Big Baller Brand for golf.

And spend $5 on a sticker for their SUV to tell you what brand of cooler they use. The YETI folks have to be laughing themselves silly.

I wouldn't buy a Tiger anything because I think he's a shitty human being. And because, to me, Sun Day Red looks stupid.

Anyone working/attending the LPGA Mizuho at Liberty National next week? I'm volunteering there.

AT&T left because there wasn't enough bang for the buck, and it was spending more to keep its name on the signature event at Pebble Beach. I suspect more sponsors from non-signature events will drop out in the coming years if pro golf doesn't fix itself.

Fun day. Played in our spring board meeting four-ball championship with one of our board members, we won a skin and ended up winning the net competition. I've never won anything in my life playing golf, so that was really cool. I sank about a 35-footer for double on the final hole, which was a net bogey thanks to me getting a pop on every hole, and that was key in breaking a tie with the side we were playing with.

Then retreated to post-round refreshments and watched Ben Kohles absolutely collapse on 18 to lose the Nelson. Chunked a wedge about five yards from left of the green on his third shot on the par-5, then managed to miss the four-footer for par. Pendrith ends up making birdie to steal it. Kohles looked like he was either going to break down in tears or vomit on the green. One bad shot in a 72-hole event kills him.

You're right. The first golf thought I had today was, "Who is Ben Kohles"?

Ben Curtis, Mike Weir, Todd Hamilton, Shaun Micheel, Trevor Immelman, Michael Campbell, Mark Brooks, Jimmy Walker and Jason Dufner won major championships during the Tiger/Phil Era. Guys most people never heard of win tournaments. How? They shot lower scores than anyone else in those fields, including the superstars -- who were free to make as many birdies as they wanted.
It's the beauty of golf. If you're good enough to qualify for a major tour, you're good enough to win. The hand-wringing and bitching about guys like Ben Kohles or Taylor Pendrith winning is pointless and insipid.
