As a lifelong native of the South, I did enjoy Kenan's OBGYN (OBBQGYN?) sketch. About the closest I've ever seen to Ego breaking, and Punkie was somehow gone before she even entered the room.

Not a great job by the writers this week, but I thought Dua Lipa acquitted herself pretty well, both comedically and musically.

Yeah, I don’t blame Dua Lipa for this turd. She showed she was game, and not bad. The writing staff, though? They need to return their paychecks for this week.

I don't think this has been posted here, but the Lonely Island has a podcast about their time on SNL, hosted by Seth Meyers, and its excellent. They're going episode by episode, with 30 to 60 minutes on the LI and SNL sketches of that week that they participated in. There's pretty easy chemistry between all four of them. They're up to "Natalie's Rap" and have already done "Lazy Sunday," which was like the second or third episode, crazy early in their run.

For a so-so week, it was amazing. The BBQ OBGYN sketch (with the newspaper headline) was a classic. And what can I say about Dua Lipa - someone I hadn't given two thoughts about (and probably won't by her records) but damn, that was a star-making turn. Like seeing the next Ann-Margret (yeah, I'm dating myself) but sometimes they get these people doing double duty and its meh - but she was outstanding in both roles. If I didn't know she was a singer primarily, I wouldn't have known - she was that good. (The tiny baby doll thing? OMG) The Seinfeld "too much press" thing was pretty spot-on.

Maybe I'm an idiot - but who played Anamolous Man? That was actually kind of riveting?

Looked like Sarah Sherman. That kinda stuff is right up her alley.

Do the musical guests even pretend to sing anymore? Not that I minded how she looked.

That was one of the more uninspired cold opens in recent memory. Seemed like it was thrown together at the last moment or something…

SNL has a tough choice to make for its cold open this week with the Trump/Stormy Daniels testimony - frankly, I'd go with a "book signing event" featuring Kristi Noem reading the infamous passage. Oh and Happy Mothers Day!

    "Wait, you shot your dog?
"It was meant to show strong leadership.....and suck up to President Trump."
    "But you SHOT your dog!?"
