I was looking forward to the Pop Tart movie. Not that I thought it'd be tremendous, but it seems like it could be a fascinating tale. Sucks that Seinfeld apparently screwed it up.

Yeah the scenario is basically. All-AAC player transfers to SEC school and AAC school tries to replace him with SEC second-year player that has only played special teams and a little bit of garbage time. The success rate for the ACC transfer portal pull is pretty low and if it does work out, they are one-and-done types that will transfer back.

I know USF had a decent QB they had to pay around $250K to return for this year. And in most cases the G5 programs are hoping to keep the top kids for two seasons, anything more than that is a huge bonus. I can tell you a couple of off-field coaches for at least one major program just comb Phil Steele's offseason info on G5 and FCS top players to scour the film and offer evaluations to decide who to tamper with.

I think you'd be severely disappointed if you watched that movie looking for the actual history of Pop Tarts.

Former Clemson coach and Alabama AD Hootie Ingram dies at 90. No word if they will serve Pepsi instead of Coke at his funeral.

On the other hand a G5 school can offer a scholarship to a kid and then run him off when they are able to recruit a superior athlete from the Power Four. Y'all can decide if that's fair.

My tailgating group is thrilled. Three 3:30 games, a 5:30, and a chance for two 12:30s. Even 7 or 7:30 isn't awful in October or early November. Plus none of the "6-day window" nonsense that made planning anything a real PITA.

Two San Jose State games on over-the-air TV, even if it is the CW? I'm in.

University of Richmond to the Patriot League in 2025. Leaving the CAA, which has been gutted over the years by the loss of Delaware and JMU.

When I was in school we scheduled way over our heads for a 3k school, with games against UNC, Georgia, WVU, Maryland, Va. Tech (then VPI), Southern Miss, Wake Forest ... quite a drop to the Patriot League, but it makes sense. Similar-sized, academically-oriented private universities.
