I'm not clear on the Constitutional aspects of this... can he still be the nominee after he's dead? Because if so, he's got it locked down for a good 12 years after he waddles off this mortal coil.

 

I will defer to @UPChip who grew up there, but I would say Marquette is more centrally located. Especially if you want to visit cool outdoorsy places like Pictured Rocks or Tahquamenon Falls.
