I cannot believe Missionaries didn't make the cut. Or Elders.

Ground her until she turns 50.

Or stops listening to Portnoy's Complaint and paying attention to his website.

Vipers was also the name of the Tampa team in XFL 2.0 (2020 edition).

"Rocky Mountain Xtreme" sounds like a Mountain Dew flavor.

    Mountaineers, I guess?

I still believe Minnesota really erred by not choosing Voyageurs (or anything, really) instead of Wild 24 years ago.

So the Wild are only two years away from matching the number of seasons the North Stars/Barons/Golden Seals played in Minnesota? That's ... wild.

Judging by school pickup, the Stanley takeover is complete.

Maybe I missed it, but the Rangers won in OT again, and are now up 3-0.

I checked in here during the game to see what people were saying. Zilch. Not saying that as a criticism, it's not like I was posting, but still. ...

They are a team that knows how to win. They were badly outplayed in the first period, but they were good, as usual, about not letting it get out of hand. Igor is a big part of it. Then they find ways to score, and they have been doing it with gut punches, like the Kreider short-handed goal. Everyone has been focused on how bad Carolina's PP has been, but I am seeing it from the opposite perspective, the Rangers PK has been crazy good.

Also, Panarin doesn't have the space to operate that he had during the regular season, especially against a team like Carolina, which is on the puck before you can blink. But it's so nice to see him shedding the label of playoff bust. That's four game winners for him in the two series, despite being quite for long stretches.

The standouts so far have been Igor obviously, Mika who has been ridiculous, and Trocheck who is playing an insane number of minutes and is doing everything, including winning a ton of key faceoffs. Lafreniere has made himself into a legit player, too.

Carolina is gooooood. It's a testiment to them that the Rangers are up 3-0 and I still don't feel as confident as 3-0 should make you feel. Either of these teams could be up 3-0 the way these games have gone, and they are probably 2 of the 3 or 4 best teams overalll, except they are meeting in the second round.

Meh, sort of like reaction to Melock's post on the O'Keefe firing. It got one response.
I'm sure things were humming on the politics and international front threads, though.

I for one have made it a point to watch every one of the Rangers' playoff games. To me, they are the most entertaining team out there, and from what I've seen they might very well be the best team. Their power play and PK have both been phenomenal and I think they have the best goalie in the game right now. That's a formula that is going to be VERY hard to beat in a best of seven series.

I really don't have a rooting interest here (though the Rangers are the team I rooted for as a little kid in Jersey), but they are so fun to watch. It's the same reason I make sure to watch the Chiefs whenever they play.
