I also love the headline on NHL.com’s game story featuring Panarin’s overtime goal: Bread Winner.

He’s the best player in the world by a country mile, regardless of the result. This sport isn’t basketball. He’s ridiculous.

I have a lot of time for Sheldon Keefe. I didn’t when he was 18-22, but he had maybe the toughest coaching job in hockey the last five years, certainly under the biggest microscope, and handled himself very well I thought.

As a junior and a young pro he was led around by a true psychopath and made some bad decisions that ruined his playing career. But he’s turned into a pretty fine person I think, and I hope he catches on wherever he wants to catch on.

He lives one town over from me, his kid plays AAA hockey so I see him in rinks from time to time. Just seems like a nice humble guy. A buddy worked with him with the Marlies and has a ton of good stuff to say.

Seems like he will get another gig. I've read Pittsburgh ...if Dubas let's Sullivan go to Jersey. Any thoughts on Berubi and Toronto? I'm intrigued by such a coupling.

There is still the issue of Rod in Carolina to be resolved. I’ve heard a rumour a deal is essentially in place, but he’s holding out for more money for his staff. He may want to leave, and a sweep may have the Canes looking to make a move as well.

I think Berube to Leafs seems like almost a done deal, but Brind’Amour is a big domino.

There should be a thread entitled "NHL Coaching Carousel" because they all seem to shuffle around from job to job.
