    Yep.

I just find it interesting that there’s a 100-year-old former major leaguer who didn’t do much in his big league career, but crossed paths in a unique way with two all-time HOFers.

Another great gem that I found from reading SABR biographies:

Mercer University started its baseball program in the 1890s. Its first head coach was this future World Series-winning manager. Mercer’s second head baseball coach was this future Hall of Fame pitcher. Who were Mercer’s first two baseball coaches?

McGraw was the head coach at St. Bonaventure from 1895-96. Hugh Jennings helped him in 95-96 then coached the team himself from 97-99. Both went on the illustrius MLB managing careers.

Yep, it’s interesting how back then, players had time to coach college baseball and then play in the majors.

So it’s been nearly 24 hours. The answer is George Stallings, who was the Miracle Braves manager when they won it all in 1914, was Mercer University’s first baseball coach.

He was succeeded by Cy Young. Some of you may have heard of him.

I don't think McGee got the Grammy on Bieber's album. This is going to be something dumb like he got a win for an audio book like Obama.
