His fans wearing adult diapers at rallies is like that scene in Billy Madison when the kid pisses his pants and Billy convinces everybody it's the cool thing to do.

    1 in 5 = 0.20
    1 in 6 = 0.1666666

With 17% as your number, how can the NYT use "nearly 1 in 5 . . . " as its lead sentence?

    Because it's dishonest. That's how.

It's practically malpractice for a criminal defense attorney to fail to make a motion to dismiss at then end of the state's case for that reason. Even when you know the judge will rule against you, the motion needs to be made to preserve certain issues for appeal.

I once handled an appeal for the state where the defense lawyer at trial made exactly one objection during a three day trial and no motions to dismiss. Easiest criminal appeal I ever had to defend since they'd effectively waived their appeal rights on the things that actually could've been issues by failing to preserve anything relevant.

First debate scheduled for June 27 in Atlanta hosted by CNN.

So far trump has been afraid to debate anyone. I’ll believe he does this one when it actually happens.

If he does, he’s too lazy to prep so it’ll be a shit show.

Best thing that caught my eye: NO fucking audience. Good. It’s not a goddamn rally.

See also: “51 percent” ≠ “most people.”

The deeper issue isn't the Times' framing of the data. The issue is that even 17% of voters believing Biden is responsible for the end of Roe v. Wade is a catastrophic failure of our ability to inform and educate the populace.

He's going to try and wing it. But not being able to feed off an audience will be a disadvantage to him.
Do we know who moderating yet? Will he/she/they be allowed to fact check him in real time?

At some point in the debate Biden should cry out:

Wish they would put them in soundproof booths (but where they can hear all questions and answers from the opposing candidate).

When you have five seconds remaining, a light flashes to warn you to wrap it up. When your time is up, the microphone is cut off, and your booth goes dark. You're fucking talking to yourself at that stage.
