If Penn State wins it will steal the loser of Indiana-Nebraska's bid. No way is the committee going to keep out #11 SEC or #8 ACC for three Big Ten teams. Ilinois won the regular season but has to be scared to death with a 45 RPI and an early exit at the tournament; Indiana at #53 is in danger even if it makes the finals.

If Miami wins the ACC, whose bid do they steal? Kind of amazing that the Canes have fallen off the map.

Speaking of the ACC ... Virginia outfielder Bobby Whalen is hitting .403. Nine UVA players make the all-ACC first, second or third team -- and Whalen isn't one of them.

How does that happen? (Yes, he's a homeboy, but really.)

    From Fecesbook:

NINE of our guys woke up with food poisoning this morning. two were in the hospital during the game. half the team were hooked up to IVs behind the dugout. their competitor was ranked #2 in the country. BSC received an at-large bid to the tournament. this, my friends, is all heart. World Series bound. #yeahpanthers

Guy was probably waiting the whole regional to make this call.

The head of SEC umpires tries to explain that debacle in the LSU-South Carolina game.

And all of that happened after LSU was down 8-0.

One of these years a Bama softball pitcher will die on the mound and Patrick Murphy will come out and proclaim “You’re good! Just give me three more outs.”

165 pitches in relief for Kayla Beaver a day after starting. But the Crimson Tide forces a Game 3 in Knoxville after 14 innings.

As ridiculous as that looked, seems like they got the call right. And props to the SEC supervisor for coming in to explain it.

I'm guessing this play is allowed to stand because the pitcher is not on the rubber, which means his toss is not a pitch and the fact that it hits the batter in the head is irrelevant. Right?

So, bottom line, the umps got it 100% right, and Johnson has no clue about the rulebook. Amirite?
