Covered Grayson when he was a junior player and college player. Three colleges in three years, and wore out his welcome quickly at each. The word was out. He was troubled, even then, and you could kind of tell, but goodness the talent was so obvious. He always hit a Tour ball.

I feel bad today. He was only 20ish and an amateur at the time, but he led a tourney I was covering at a site he had won before, and after the three colleges thing, I think I wrote a lede along the lines of of "Grayson Murray may have finally found a home." Ecccchhhhhh.

For MLB, you'd have to go back to 1940. Willard Hershberger, a catcher with the Reds, committed suicide in his hotel room. His body was discovered between games of a doubleheader. Here's a story about it written in 2022:

Wow, I'm a Reds fan and never knew that story. And he wore No. 5 before Johnny Bench, my favorite.

Read it to the end (skipping over the part about the spawn of the ritzy golf club she eventually joined while living in the Las Vegas area). Heartbreaking and stomach turning throughout.

A little surprising, but not really, considering she's spent basically all of her formative years in the spotlight.

With the U.S. Women's Open 40 minutes away in Lancaster, I'm planning on heading out to at least see the Saturday rounds.

Good for Lexi. She's had a nice career, probably has banked a few dollars and now can enjoy life.

It was obvious at Liberty National her swing had been compromised by injuries.

14 million on course earnings, which puts her 10th all-time. She's 900,000 from sixth. Annika leads at just over 22.5 million

    Annika still leads. Wow.

    I loved watching Annika play.
