The ICC launched an investigation in 2021 (not in 2024) of Israel for "war crimes."

But I am sure the Guardian's "investigation" of how Israel responded to that will be eaten up by the Guardian ReaderTM as exihibit X of Israel's thuggish behavior when the righteous ones stand up to the ogre.

The ICC is dangerous, because it launches "investigations" of Israel (and the United States) very liberally, while ignoring cases that actually warrant its attention. What it does with its whacked agenda is put the aggression that forces Israel to respond on the same plane as Israel, and that sets back Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. They reward the Palestinian's intransigence with regard to Israel's right to even exist (and their refusal to even directly negotiate with Israel), which in turn forces Israel to act on its own. Which creates the self fulfilling prophecy of "war criminals!"

There are no Israeli-Palestinian negotiations to set back. There haven’t been any serious negotiations since 2009. Instead the prime minister has been wishcasting war with Iran.

They haven’t had any serious negotiations because every time the U. S. tried to get them to the table -- over and over again -- and Israel agreed to DIRECT negotiations, the Palestinians refused. Instead, they'd go to the U.N. and try to rally the parts of the world that are hostile to Israel to force their will on Israel. And the world, largely led by places that hate the U.S. and hate jews, is happy to indulge.

Do I really need to detail the history? Like, remember when Hilary Clinton was going to bring peace within a year during the Obama administration, and the Palestinians wouldn't engage in direct negotiations. Israel has been willing to have direct negotiations. Even right now, it is willing to have direct negotiations.

The Irish are not hostile to Israel and have recognized a Palestinian state. Same for Spain and Norway.

Given all that, I look forward to Yossi Cohen's libel suit against the Guardian.

Israel is not against a Palestinian state. It’s the getting to a Palestinian State that people gloss over. It cant happen with Hamas entrenched in Gaza.

The Palestinian Authority was in charge in Gaza from 1993-2006. No Palestinian state was formed.

Again, you keep throwing out generalitie like that, like Israel has somehow been the unreasonable party, or equally unreasonable.

Do I really need to detail the actual history? Let's look at specifics. Like in 2000 at Camp David when Ehud Barak was begging Yasser Arafat to take YES for an answer. ... and Arafat walked away from the table rather than get a Palestinian State he supposedly was asking for, except he couldn't bring hisemfl to concede to coexisting with Israel as a condition.

The hatred of jews has been a powerful thing, and it has held back generations. They could have had a "Palestinian State" in 1948, and one can only guess how much better things would be today for their grandchildren. But rather than accept the UN's partition plan that would have created two states living side by side peacefully (which the jews there were on board with!) they chose to attack the jews instead. It's never ended.
