Setting that completely aside, the defense had to have Franklin testify. Because when he didn't, it was clear to the jury he didn't have a good excuse for some of the things he did.

Franklin has said so many stupid things over the years that, had he testified, they may have given this guy $16 million.

    Here we go again!!

    Tucker sues MSU, claiming racism

Key distinction: while players under Dantonio and Izzo certainly did engage in morally dubious behavior, at no point did the alleged behavior involve the coaches themselves. The Tucker case is entirely about the sexual misbehavior of the coach himself.

Southern Methodist got the death penalty. Carlton Dotson only got 35 years (and is eligible for parole, according to Wiki).

I'd add CCNY basketball, Duke lacrosse, North Carolina's African American studies program and Georgia's fascination with speed limits to the list of transgessors, in addition to all the other point shavings, blantant rule breaking and thuggery.

To be completely cynical, nobody's clean. It's just there are various stages of filthy.

Alleged sexual abuse by a member of a coaching staff -- OR support staff -- outweighs any recruiting/pay-for-play scandal I can think of.
