As noted elsewhere, fundraising off this has already started on teh Twitterez. But they forgot to turn off comments. Not going there, of course.

 

There’s no way he really could have gone to law school.

I’ve never donated to a Republican candidate, but I got a text purporting to be a Trump fundraising pitch. It was playing off what a travesty this was and donate now to save him.

It was deleted and reported as junk.

 

I think this is exactly what’s going to happen. I also think the many Jan 6 jail sentences help that.

 

It just seems like the cloak of invincibility --- nothing ever sticks to the guy!!!! --- has been removed .... and rather violently.

Fiftysomething charges are still outstanding --- on stuff that REALLY are crimes. They may never get to trial, and Trump may have a 12-point lead in the polls this time next week. But something just feels different.

 

If he was healthier, he might be able to pull off the Hannibal Lecter thing, where he's more dangerous and appealing as he gets into deeper and deeper trouble. Hell, he would have thrived in that role just eight years ago. And he still might win! America is stupid! But he's in bad, bad shape.

 

I'm guessing the "why this is bad news for Joe Biden" story was bumped inside.

 

I want to believe this.

But I won't be convinced until he's no longer a threat to this country.

 

House arrest is fine as long as the term lasts for several months leading up to and including Nov. 5.
