Arkansas is up 8-0 on SEMO in the second inning. The most entertaining part of the game so far is the Arkansas radio color commentator has a bad case of hiccups that are hitting about every 30 seconds.

And now SEMO has tied it 8-8 in the fifth.

Did that cure the announcer's hiccups?

A&M looked good and Florida has been surprisingly feisty. The rest of the SEC has been leaking oil.

That format probably isn't fair, but it does ensure that nobody has to play more than four games. Better for the long-term prospects, I would imagine.

It sure looks like the field at ECU is aligned so that hitters are looking into the sun. It's not really that bad, but 16 of the first 24 batters have struck out.

Three SEC teams — South Carolina, LSU and Mississippi State — get walk-off wins, and the conference goes 9-2 on day one. Alabama and Vanderbilt lost.
Perhaps they had to work a little more than they'd have liked, but that's not too shabby.

Quite a few local Methodist ministers found themselves frustrated that they were stuck at the North Alabama Annual Conference during the BSC game. A report from the scene:

“Pretty sure every pew in the sanctuary had at least a couple of phones streaming the game, and I secretly loved our gasps when something big would happen. Like when they scored their first run during Keith’s remarks.”
