Lancaster eating up the field. Ko, Korda, Henderson and Zhang a combined 37 over. Only four players currently under par.

 

Make that 39 over with Zhang the only one to break 80.

Kevin Velo shoots 27 on the front nine at the UNC Health Championship.
He shot 68.

FYI, 15 year old amateur Asterisk Talley of (where else?) California tied for seventh after the second round of the U.S. Women's Open.

(I was her walking scorer at the Mizuho tournament in Jersey City.)

 

For the sign, did they just use a * followed by her last name?

 

This is more about her parents than her but wouldn’t “Asteroid” or even “7” have been preferable?

Turns out it’s a Greek name.

 

At our home course, we had an old guy named Tom that for years would consistently shoot 40-41 on the front 9…..you have to give him a couple strokes in the back 9, then the old coot would shoot 32-33 on the back and take home all your money. We called that “The Uncle Tom”
After one round where I went 33-42, we then identified that as “The Uncle Mot”.
