Staten Island makes The Villages look liberal.

NYC has more of everybody living there. That’s the charm of being the biggest.

If you want to blow a MAGA mind, let them know Donald Trump got more votes in California than Texas.

And those millions of California GOP presidential votes mean absolutely nothing in the election of our leader.

    Thanks, Electoral College!

I was thinking more in the other direction, where in 2016 Hillary ran up the score but it meant diddly squat because of a few old men in Oconomowoc.

Staten Island: more Ram 2500s with lift kits than any other borough.

Staten Island: come for the pizza, stay for the racist revanchism.

Staten Island: beaches! Don't touch anything on the beaches!

    Staten Island: America, only moreso!

Staten Island: Where everyone is originally from Brooklyn.
Staten Island: Where half the cast of Jersey Shore was from.
Staten Island: Where the guys spend more on their hair than the women do.
Staten Island: Land of tasteless lawn ornaments.
Staten Island: Where eggplant is always a hot topic of conversation.
Staten Island: Where cops make their home.

I can go on and on. ... honestly, the borough (neighborhood wise) is actually more diverse than a lot of people realize. It has its guidos, but there are a lot of people who live there who aren't the stereotype.

Gotta say I miss the Staten Island Yankees. Still the best stadium in baseball.

I'm out there pretty frequently for one reason or another, and it's . . . kinda nice depending on the neighborhood.

Like Far Rockaway, but with Joe and Pat's.

I agree with you about that stadium. ... and the beauty of it was that it was barely on Staten Island!

I haven't spent a ton of time on Staten Island. But I have driven through it probably a thousand times, heading for the outerbridge crossing. The only times I have actually gone there with a purpose was for food, Joe and Pat's included (wasn't overly impressed, but only been there once). I'm guessing you have been. ... but Denino's a little farther from 278 (I am always afraid when I get too far away) is another one; I was bit more impressed.

Denino's and Lee's are both very good.

Re: Far Rockaway. ... A long time ago, I dated a girl whose family was from Breezy Point. It may be the most insular place in New York. It's actually pretty nice around there, the homes are nice, you have the beach, etc. But the whole neighborhood felt like it had gone to the mattresses sometime in the 1970s. The only thing missing were gun turrets to keep the "wrong element" out.

The purple line ferry runs all the way out to Far Rockaway these days, and is a really pleasant trip. Best $2.75 you'll ever spend.

Also, Tacoway Beach makes excellent fish tacos.
