Holy crap, the Soviet newsreader was General Burkhalter from Hogan's Heroes!

Sajak always seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about how fortunate he is to have had the job.

Won't anyone think of how Vanna is going to carry on?

Didn't know until reading an NYT story that she was staying on for at least a couple years with Seacrest. With a raise.

Fuck Ryan Seacrest. How many more shows do we need to watch him on (or listen to him on)?! I was a huge Wheel of Fortune fan but I’ll never watch again.

What pisses me off about Wheel is how banal it is and yet? I suck at word puzzles, so I suck at the show, which pisses me off even more because it seems designed for an 8th grade education.

That said, my wife watches it, and in recent years? I’m pretty convinced Sajak is anti-hosting. I think he loves nothing more than the prize reveal at the end where he shows a losing contestant what they would have won.

Plus, I’m probably wrong on this, but he seems to barely tolerate Vanna White, one of the least deserving celebrities of all-time. Beloved for working a touch screen.

One more "Wheel" story. We'd dogsit a friend's dachsund a couple of days a week when she had to go out of town. Good dog, despite having one malformed leg. But whenever she'd hear a bell or buzzer, she'd go into full attack mode, barking at it until it went away. Nice to have when someone was locked out (usually me), but as many bells as would go off during "Wheel," we had to turn the volume way down.
