Nothing here supports your argument, but there's plenty there to support the argument that she needs a couple of weeks off.

That's the best argument that could be made.

I remember Rebecca Lobo getting picked for the 1996 team, basically as a walking promo for the soon-to-be-launched WNBA and she got nothing but garbage time. If Clark gets selected as the 12th person and gets limited time, then they would bitch about her not playing enough. If things go as they might, she'll be the undisputed leader of the 2028 and 2032 teams at least.

BUT, they could have been slick and put her on the 3 x 3 team where she would have played a lot more and the reasoning could have simply been that they wanted her to get Olympic experience and that players on the 2024 team. like Kelsey Plum, played on the 2021 team and won gold and moved up. They could've plut Clark on the 2024 instead of Hailey Van Lith, maybe that offer was presented, but declined. Who knows?

On the bright side, among the people I know that were outraged, many of them didn't know the U.S. Olympic team had a trial process and that stars of the past just didn't get thrown on the team because they were great, even the Michael Phelps' of the world had to earn it each time.

Great thought. (Of course, the 3x3 would have gotten better TV numbers than the main competition, but still. ;) )

So I've lived life and not paid more than two minutes to this USA Basketball kerfuffle, but did they really pick a player who has yet to step foot on a WNBA court this year for the team?

Well, yeah, but she's a former Finals MVP and did attend the Olympic training came in Cleveland.

I assume she will be healthy by Paris? Or is she an honorary inclusion and will eventually give up her spot to Clark?

Oh, it's the "she hopes to be able to play in Paris" party line that seems unlikely will happen. She still wears a walking boot everywhere but on the sidelines.

I do know that it’s almost Olympics time when my aunt and mother are asking if the gymnastics is on tonight.

Of all the points made, the best might be the last: Whom do you bounce from the list to make way for Clark?
This is the one that really flummoxes the Trumpists.

Well, I gave you one, and the last time I looked, I was definitely voting for the Democratic nominee.

But I suppose she fills the enforcer role ...
