I wish they'd flip Virginia with Florida so it's be a true SEC-ACC matchup to start off.

 

NCSU has won the last three women's cross country national championships.

 

Two weeks ago, I think I read here that Florida didn't even belong in the tournament.

When you have to win two out of three to get to an above 500 record, you probably don't deserve it. I am a Florida fan and I'm happy they are headed to Omaha, but this surprises the hell out of me considering they couldn't put anything together in the regular season.

 

They didn't. They took advantage of their opportunity, a credit to them. But Cal, Charleston or several other teams that had far better regular seasons - supposedly the basis for selection - could have done the same thing, given the chance.

 

South Carolina opens the recycle bin and hires Paul Mainieri.

 

Whenever you can hire someone who hasn't coached for three seasons amid a landscape which looks nothing like the one he left and is approaching his 70s, you have to do it

Tie game going to the bottom of the ninth. Heels send a .194 pinch hitter up and he laces a double down the right field line. Eventually scores and Cardiac Carolina rides again.
