Saw Eugene Robinson (of WaPo, not Falcons' solicitation perp) at a speaker series last night and one main point of emphasis,

how is it that someone who tells a story about an electric boat and sharks and uses that as a basis for banning electric trucks a viable candidate for president??

He's pulled and said shit that would have knocked any normal person out of the race before the New Hampshire primary in 2016. I mean hundreds of comments, snark, mean jokes and bullshit involving campaign donations, charging the government for his Secret Service detail staying at his properties ... and the thousands upon thousands of lies.

Consider:
Howard Dean was run out of the 2004 race for one incoherent yell.
Gary Hart was run out of the 1988 race for one photo of a chick sitting on his lap, both of them fully clothed, and her not accusing him of any kind of sexual assault.
George Romney was drummed out of the 1968 race for the "brainwashing" comment after a trip to Vietnam.
Edmund Muskie was out of it in 1972 for shedding tears over a hit piece on his wife -- which turned out to be one of the Nixon dirty tricks.
In each case, one ... ONE incident or comment. Compared to thousands of far worse incidents and comments by this fuckwad.
He has dumbed down the Presidency and inoculated future candidates from getting called on shit. Hell, I'm even willing to concede that Biden wouldn't have lasted long in a campaign 20 years ago for some of his slip-ups. But he's still JKF compared to Trump.
That's Trump's legacy: Dumb asses with a spark of charisma can be President.
