I haven't been to Milwaukee in over 20 years, but I have a lot of fond memories of the city circa the mid to late 90s.

My high school girlfriend went to Marquette and I went to visit quite a bit. Considered transferring there before deciding to go South instead. Went to Summerfest a couple times, closed Wolski's at least once. A lot of fond memories.

I am very, very glad my bartending days happened in the 1990s and 2000s, when more people carried cash. Those tips the IRS never knew about were awesome - the night before Thanksgiving alone would pay rent for the month.

    That’s why I carry cash.

Rick Scott might be even more loathsome than Tom Cotton.

Yes. The move to cashless venues has to be leading to fewer tips for concession workers.

Understood, me too. OTOH, it's exactly what pretty much everyone said was going to happen.

You have the option to leave tips on CC transactions. I only tip the actual beer vendors, though. At least at Camden Yards, there are just big coolers where you grab your own beer and pay for it. There's a person watching to make sure people don't steal shit, but I sure as hell am not tipping them. Vendors hustling up the stands? Definitely tipping.

It’s led to every damn body feeling free to ask for tips now, no matter how minimal the service they provide. So people get burnt out and opt out for everybody, including professions that legitimately do need them.

Pro tip, if you tip at the concession stand kiosk at an arena or stadium, that money virtually never goes to the workers. Most of them will readily tell you that.
