What is a splash pad?

 

It’s a little water park with sprinklers and things for toddlers to play in, in lieu of an actual pool.

 

Basically pool water features without a pool. You see them in parks and outdoor malls all around SoCal. When we were kids we called them yard sprinklers, but they got a new agent.

 

Which makes targeting it to hold a mass shooting just that much more reprehensible.

 

It's good for toddlers and if parents happen to get wet too, I take it as a win.

Compounding the tragedy of the Fordyce shooting is that's the only supermarket in town. It's shut down indefinitely.
