Even the crying from the Rockies announcers was justified -- and they are in the bottom five of announcing crews in MLB. An absolutely brutal missed call. Black should hand the card to Barksdale and get run immediately.

And I’m still pissed about the one against the Giants, but yes it was a one game separation and that check swing against the Dodgers played a big part in the Giants winning the West.

Bradish Tommy John, official. Expected, but it still hurts.

Could the Orioles put together a package for Crochet?

Mets and Nats tied for the third wild-card spot by the end of the night?

    I'd love to see it.

I still can't understand why it's being taken for granted that Dean Kremer should walk right back into the rotation, given what the back-end three have done in his absence. Dean Kremer is the quintessential 5 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 HR guy.

The kid, Cade Povich, is a little erratic, but still finds himself in a 1-1 game with Gerrit Cole as Cole leaves after 62 pitches in the fifth.

Crochet would be costly. Also, there is a lot of talk of him having to be shut down early because he hasn't thrown this many innings before.

Luzardo has had difficulty staying healthy this season and throughout his career. He is currently dealing with a back issue.

Indeed. And outside of Erick Fedde, he's still the best arm you could get right now. Crochet, as noted, is going to be shut down sooner than later. Colorado isn't smart enough to trade Cal Quantrill at his peak value (and he's not a difference-maker anyway). Same with the Angels and Tyler Anderson. Oakland doesn't have any starters who are going to impact a playoff race. Things will shake out over the next five weeks, of course.

Coming up: One of those moments where we see if Craig Kimbrel cam still be The Man.

EDIT: It was not that great. Volpe double, Stanton 120-mph single. Going to extras.
