It always comes back to the Fontaines, doesn't it?

That sleepy Taylor Swift double album is still manipulating its way to #1 on the album charts, but Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX have the actual bops of the summer.

"Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter is my summer song this year. Lyrics are pretty, um, descriptive, but it's a pure bop.

The wacky, sports columnist-like manipulated stat was that she's the first singular credit artist to have two consecutive-released singles in the Top 3 since The Beatles, haha.

How is this song only in its second week on the charts? And at 94 no less. Anyway - a new version. Just as good, if not better, than the original and live version. He really has some great musicians working with him.

They have the Bonnaroo sound. Played the farm in 2007 and 2014.

Had to revisit this mid-Aughts Britpop nugget.

Lots to unpack with Kaiser Chiefs. One of my English friends from the 1990s that I stayed in touch with crushed on them hard. Ramones meet Blur with a dash of Thin Lizzy.

I hope Jocelyn is smiling all the way to the bank these days. Her voice is all over half the Euro singles charts from 1990-92.

Late add: The Killers adopted a lot of their affectations to success with a touch more polish.
