    If I remember correctly, Ford was not gonna run for re-election because Betty Ford did not want four more years of the White House life. She later agreed that he should run, but by that time Carter had all the momentum, and it was too late for Gerald Ford.

    I thought he was great. Just a good, solid, moral man.
    And after he lost, I didn't vote for a presidential candidate again until Obama arrived.

    Not proud of that at all, but I just did not like the choices.
    I mean ... Ronald Reagan is gonna be a president? Come on!

    Exactly. And say what you want about Jeb Bush, but he was a helluva governor
    down in Florida ... and yet Republican voters let Fucko the Clown push him out?
    That was an early sign that this party was just out for blood.

    I was just a small kid. I remember Ford and Carter being president, but my entire perspective is historical after the fact. I think they were both good, honorable men who wanted to do a good job but were hamstrung by the '70s.
