No, they just had to miss two in the same week because of a hurricane.

Whining about Sun Belt hockey teams is so played out. It’s not 1966 and never will be again.

The Panthers style did kind of take it back to the mid-90s with the Lemaire defensive-minded Devils.

Hockey is brutal. Losing a Game 7 when a player deflects a shot with his stick. Ugh. And that ending, or the puck hanging out in front of the goal and nobody able to get to it quick enough. Brutal for the Oilers.

I'd be interested to know what his injury status was. As great as he was, he seemed to have lost a gear from the WCF that he could only access for a play or two a game, as opposed to a couple of times a period like usual.

Celebrating at the Elbo Room. Doesn't get any more South Florida than that.

Finding out just how hurt everyone was is my favorite part of a series. My guess is Draisaitl has been clinically dead since Game 5.

Admittedly, I only watched Game 7 because the Oilers had come back from the 0-3 deficit. The Oilers looked like the quicker, faster, better skating, more skilled team at the start and I thought they would do it. Then the Oilers couldn't capitalize on the tripping power play and fell behind. Then as others pointed out, they had nothing at the end of 3rd. Bummer.

No classier winner than Paul Maurice. Congrats. He had a pertinent answer for every oddball question he got.

F**k Florida, but they've got the two best coaches and the two best goalies.

Felt like there were A LOT of stoppages from icings in the third period. Panthers were obviously content to stay back and clamp down on D.
Can’t believe McDavid didn’t score on his chance in front of the net or Oilers didn’t score on the PP when the Panthers defenseman had a broken stick, making it a 5-on-3.5.

There was a stretch in the middle of the third where like six minutes went by without a single stop in play. While I think they mostly ran out of gas, I wonder if the Oilers didn't play the last three our four minutes that great. On one hand they were peppering the goal, so go with what works and try and get the equalizer. But it just killed them in that last 90 seconds and they took too long to pull the goalie. By the time they did the legs were toast. Maybe a couple more changes and pull the goalie earlier they would have had some chances in the last minute? Who knows. I can only imagine the energy that was spent in that situation.

Colin Campbell to the HHoF is hilarious.
