What's with this alternative reality crap? It was bad enough when people couldn't accept problems and shortcomings. Now they just turn the truth on its head entirely.

 

Post pandemic inflation was a worldwide phenomenon, caused by the actions/nonactions of billions of people. The US economy has seen inflation slow down to a close to normal pace and maintained growth, a better performance than the other countries with developed economies. You can argue how much/little Biden's policies had to do with that, but those are the facts. Anyone blaming either Trump or Biden for the post-pandemic inflation is just wrong. Neither had anything to do with the price of a sausage in Munich or a baguette in Lyon or a cabbage in Shanghai.

 

So it's OK to print $1 trillion you are not getting back in revenue year after year in perpetuity with no negative consequences?

Yes, as long as folks are willing to buy the debt of the United States, which they have been for a long time now, much longer than the post-pandemic inflation burst.
