    Whitmer/Booker would be a dream ticket -- Michigan/NJ geographic balance, first female President/Black VP, both youthful. One potential issue is rumor Booker lives a closeted life

    Kamala Harris will make Trump a viable candidate. Gavin Newsom, too.

    And people on here will be scratching their heads as to why, which is kind of funny at this point.

    Donald Trump -- liar, BS artist, immoral porn star porker, insurrenctionist, felon, indicted ass, etc. -- was already viable before last night. In terms of the electoral college, Joe Biden barely beat Trump in 2020 -- after the chaos of Trump for 4 years and January 6 and everything everyone saw. It was maybe 40,000 votes across a handful of states.

    Replacing Biden with someone younger and more vibrant, but who represents the same old BS. ... MAY defeat Trump. But it also may not.

    Think about that. ... when you can't defeat DONALD TRUMP easily at this point, maybe you have your own problems.

    The country’s future. Not just the party’s.
    He felt compelled to pick Harris. I get it. But that selection, which may have helped in 2020, may be the country’s undoing. If his VP had wide appeal, stepping aside — even stepping down as POTUS — would be the play now.

    After reading this thread and the NYT and some other stuff, I've lost hope for November. The USA had a good run. But it's likely over thanks to a lying reality TV star who is a shitty businessman and con artist. I just hope Civil War 2.0 doesn't start any time soon.

    Remember, they tried - oh did they try- to replace Biden in 2020 but in every single candidate they found a flaw.

    “Kamala is a cop.”

    “I like Buttigieg but I can’t get past the gay thing.”

    “Elizabeth Warren is too marmy.”

    Their own damn primary voters did this.

    Trump is already a viable candidate. He won in 2016, nearly repeated and will now be widely presumed to win again in 2024.
    He’s viable no matter what because the fastest growing region of the country has been reliably GOP for decades. The least educated region, it was always going to be susceptible to the ignorant, bigoted lies of a con man.
    Only Georgia in 2020 and North Carolina in 2008 have veered from the regional norms in recent elections.
