Sorry, but condescending to the "metro journalists" of an editorial board just because you're tired of hearing about the seditious authoritarian sociopath currently running as a Republican for president; or because you think the Trumpenproletariat can't or won't be deprogrammed or disenthralled by reminding them of the truth seems a little cynical, even for you.

Eric Feigl-Ding was like porn on here during COVID.

Fine. So everyone else will stay home. 209 EVs with Kamala or Joe.

One is a survey of Democratic registered voters, one is a survey of registered voters. Apples and oranges.

To come out with that editorial, in the face of Biden's meltdown, is pollyannish to the nth degree. You know it, anyone knows it. Please, Bad Man, do A Good, Completely Unpredictable Thing. They'd be better off appealing to a supernatural being.

    Maybe Keith didn't notice, but . . .

It's half the Dems who are saying "get out" to Biden (just Dems polled).
And it's all the Dems who are saying "get out" to Trump (when both parties are polled).

GOP is fine with their guy.

Part of that is laziness among the media and part of that is each political side wants spokespeople who they know won’t get away from the standard talking points.

In a way, it’s refreshing that I live in one of the few purple areas for representation. Both of the Congresscritters in my area (one D, one R), basically agree with their party line on the issues, but almost never are actually seen on national talk shows. They’re actually busy bringing home the bacon and making appearances in our region. They know if they start becoming national media darlings, the other side will put up a candidate that will give them a fight come election time.

A trained monkey might not have a better chance of beating Trump, but he'd certainly make a better President.

The people supposing that if Biden decided to drop out Harris wouldn't be the nominee are simply not engaged in political reality. It's not just that she's a black woman, she's the Veep. The Democrats couldn't pass her over without it being an implicit going on explicit rejection of their four years in the White House. They're not gonna do that, and they shouldn't. It's perfectly OK if people here put that idea up, we're not pros. But for alleged big domes like the editor of the New Yorker to do so is really sad. He's supposed to know stuff like that.
