No first-hand knowledge of Howard, and not to be all cancel-culturey, but how in the world do you do something like this and not be fired? At the stadium with a press pass means you are representing the station, and you try and stick your tongue down the throat of a hot dog girl? Being barred from the stadium for the rest of the year is pretty close to a nothing punishment.

And how in the world do you do something like this in the first place?

Feels like Costanza with the cleaning lady.

Howard Eskin is a world-class shithead. This doesn’t surprise me at all.

His whole career was built on basically being a smarmier version of Skip Bayless. And he got infinitely worse when he started believing his own hype, which was probably 30 years ago at this point.

I vaguely recall one time when he sent a female listener a bouquet of flowers, and her husband killed her when he found it. Can’t remember the rest of the details, but I know he talked about it on-air once or twice.

This whole industry has been a vehicle for this guy's narcissism. He's been drafting off of breaking the news that Leonard Tose was trying to move the Eagles to Arizona for 40 years.

If you can picture a 700-Level Eagles season ticket holder who stumbled into fame and a bit of money, you're picturing Howard Eskin. If you can picture a Philles fan throwing a D-cell battery at J.D. Drew, you're picturing Howard Eskin. If you can picture a 76ers fan who thinks Allen Iverson was the embodiment of a stereotype and wholly worthless as a basketball player, you're picturing Howard Eskin. If you can picture a Flyers fan who is pissed off that there aren't four fights per game anymore, you're picturing Howard Eskin.

If you can picture a drunk Philly fan pissing in the men's room sink at halftime while whining about how his team is being robbed of a win, you're picturing Howard Eskin.

He's a totem of everything a Philly fan is, and he made himself famous playing the part as only he can.

Which is to say, he's a disgusting piece of crap.

He is a caricature of everything non-Philadelphians think we are.

Then again, don't Philadelphians caricature everyone else in their state as "the mud people"?

That’s not a caricature. And it’s not “everyone else.”
