This photo of Harris could cause trouble in Southern California:

Newsom or Whitmer would be excellent candidates.

I'd take the Michigan AG as the country's AG in a hot minute, and secretary of state as something in the cabinet. They kicked ass in 2020 and took no prisoners.

Kamala got depantsed in a primary debate by Tulsi who came in and attacked her from the left, accusing her of being too tough on crime as a prosecutor and dropping veiled hints of racism. Kamala was caught completely flat footed and sputtered to come up with a response. I think she was thrown by the fact the apparently young and energetic Tulsi would attack a female person of color.

(As it turned out of course, Tulsi is a right wing/ MAGA/Putin plant.)

But remember also that Kamala, as a brown skinned woman with vaguely non white ancestry, was following the Obama template of avoiding at all costs the appearance of an angry radical black rabble rouser.

The image of the uppity angry black radical threatening to strike back against Whitey is one of the oldest tropes.

It's time to quit worrying about it.

Here's a good, easy-read article/opinion piece by Anne Applebaum in The Atlantic:

There is zero chance Biden is dropping out, barring a very obvious medical emergency. Zero.

This would have been an excellent conversation to have 18 months ago. But anybody (and just on this board) who tried to bring it up was branded a dunce and/or a traitor to the cause.

Oh, well, we can dream of this scenario, can't we?

They only way they could have ever done it is if Kagan or Sotomayor stepped down and they put Harris on the Supreme Court. It's too late for that now. Both houses have to confirm a new VP and the Republicans in the House would never allow it.
