    We actually had a kid get bitten a few weeks ago up the island from me. In almost every case, it's a kid on a boogie board because the shark looks up and thinks its a turtle. My great nieces and nephews love boogie boards. I tell them to stay in the wash and do no be out there floating spread eagle in water above your waist.

    No fucking wonder Beryl is giving West Texas a hard pass. 118 is a brick wall.

    My hottest experience is 110ºF in real time. In my youth as an independent person, I heard it was going to be 120ºF in Palm Springs so I drove all the way out there, but alas, it only got to 108. But I didn't whiff completely as I took a detour and was blown away by Idyllwild and Pine Cove.

    The seven-day forecast for Death Valley. I was hearing some news reports that it could get above 130.
