Maybe Macron knew what he was doing after all.

    Holy shit, France.

And polls mean nothing. Absolutely nothing.

There is hope, yet, for mankind.

The take on here about France is funny.

Mélenchon is as dangerous as Le Pen. He's an absolute fuck and just as hateful as she is.

That election wasn't a rejection of the nationalism. ... it was anti-incumbent. They will vote for any hateful, whack job other than the same old, same old that has fucked up the country.

It's good for France (against their worst instincts) because now they are going to get gridlock in a country that has bankrupted itself and needs to scale back the mess it has created with its socialist nirvana. But every time Macron has tried, there are protests and riots and strikes. The turmoil ahead now as they run out of money and increasingly tell people that the "free stuff" society can't go on is going to get ugly.

The U.S. has been following France into the abyss -- a step behind, but catching up rapidly over the last decade or so. The fact that they will vote for nazis and anti-semitic "communists" in such large numbers doesn't really bode well for us, or for where sentiment is heading globally.

    I suppose it's first-person reporting / analysis.

Does something in it strike you as unsupported opinion?

Do you think it's objectively reported?
