Golf Channel got him on the range in Scotland. He seemed pretty pissed he didn't get it. Had a lot of praise for Bradley but he seemed to honestly think if Tiger turned it down, he'd be the Plan B.

DeChambeau is second in points right now, thanks to winning the U.S. Open. The next LIV guy on the list is Reed at 30th. Koepka is 34th. In the meantime, immortals Russell Henley and Maverick McNealy are 11th and 12th. If those standings are the same this time next year, Bradley better show some stones and dip down to the 30s and 40s and take Reed and Koepka -- as much as I dislike Reed.

Well, you can't complain if a guy had a better interview than you ... oh wait.

So bizarre how it all went down. No interview, Bradley just answered the phone two Sundays ago and it was Johnson and PGA execs giving him the job. Bradley said he probably didn't give them the reaction they wanted because it was so stunning.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I look forward to the Ryder Cup as much as the majors. The drama/arguments are pretty fun to follow as a golf fan.

I think Bradley is a great choice. And he's got a low, low bar to clear to be better than Johnson.

    Bingo.
You don’t want to be the guy that loses at Bethpage.
I’m surprised Tiger didn’t get it this year. I’ll be stunned if he doesn’t get it in 27.

Tom Watson and Hal Sutton just high-fived each other.

The average sports fan has moved on to college and NFL football that weekend.

It’s a third-screen experience for me by Sunday afternoon.

Certainly no argument there. Football, particularly the NFL, is king. But as a golf fan, every two years it beats the NFL for me. And if it's held in Europe, the time change means you don't have to miss much NFL.

It also becomes an easier choice for me because the Giants and Jets are almost always dogshit anyway.

It's usually over by Sunday afternoon, with NBC desperately trying to make a five-point deficit sound doable.

Oh, it was my favorite event in sports for a time. The complete lack of drama for 20 years has really taken the shine off it for me.

I have really fond memories of Ryder Cup matches in the 90’s and 00’s. Corey Pavin chipping on the 18th green one Friday was awesome. He was one tough dude/out. Why not him?

Lost as captain in 2010 in Wales, where the rainsuits famously failed.
