For some unexplainable reason this makes me sad...I haven't used one in years of course but just this week I stopped at the one in front of Walgreens and perused the titles to see how many movies I've never heard of.

    Say goodbye to Redbox

Redbox got me through a lot of visitation weekends in my early years as a single dad when I couldn’t afford cable or streaming anything. Admittedly I haven’t used it in years but still sad to see it go.

When I was a bachelor and couldn’t afford cable … or internet, the $5 bin at Walmart and Redbox were my go tos. Saw interesting movies that way.

Of course now that I’m married and can actually afford things and streaming, I haven’t done Red Box in 10 years.

If you told me I had to watch something on DVD, I suppose somewhere in this house we've still got a device which can play them. ... maybe? possibly?

Redbox got us through a lot of road trips with pre-teen children. We would rent a couple of movies at a kiosk close to home. Each kid had a portable DVD player, so they would each watch both those movies, and we'd stop at another kiosk four or five hours later and rent two more.

Our town still has a Redbox as of this morning. That’s how podunk this place is.

There’s still a Blockbuster open in Oregon!
