Do they have trials for horsey like swimming and track and field?

They said several weeks ago that White was the alternative in the (highly likely) event that they needed an injury replacement.

NBC Sports puts up a good 15-20 minute extended highlights video of each stage on YouTube. They go up a few hours after each stage ends. It's a good way to see all of the important stuff, and the lead-up to it, without shelling out for Peacock.

    Over-under on Canada-US was 195.5.

Finished at 158. Obama had more selfies than that courtside.

Unintentional or not, this is funny. Almost a shot-for-shot remake.

This summer already feels compressed. ASG next week, Wimbledon wrapping up, the Open nigh, TdF ongoing - and the Olympics in a couple weeks. And don't forget NFL training camps opening. Hell, did I miss the Celebrity Golf thing at Tahoe? LLWS?

And here we go again. But Wetzel adds some common sense here.

The selection process for the equestrian teams is way more complicated than one head to head competition. Eventing may be different, but dressage and jumping have rankings from designated qualifying competitions, eventually a short list of potential team members is named, they go to designated observation competitions and then a team is chosen. This year U.S. has a strong eventing and jumping team and the dressage team sucks.

Rai Benjamin made a statement yesterday at the Diamond League meet in Monaco, beating world record holder Karsten Warholm and 2022 world champion Alison dos Santos in the 400 hurdles.

I’m not sure that makes him the favorite for the Olympics, but I do know he is looking very strong going in.
