    Butler is overwhelmingly MAGA territory. A close friend of mine grew up there. She's actually in town visiting her mother. They weren't at the rally, but she knows people who were.

    Self-serving note.

    Why I always keep a dark suit in my locker at work, always ready to go.

    First time in 30 years I’ve ever had to use it on a day I was not scheduled to anchor.

    In 1988, Rick Reilly wrote a feature on Bryant Gumbel in SI. On the first page, Gumbel always kept a dark suit in his office just in case. I never forgot that.

    But of course, that will mean. ...The hero worship / superhero treatment / adulation from the braindead cult is going to be really over the top at the convention next week, if he is good to go.
