FBI confirmed Thomas Matthew Crooks as alleged shooter.

 

MSNBC is not on prison docs, so this is serious.

 

What were we bracing for from the cult if Trump got sent to prison? Well, some guy just shot him in the ear.

“He came within inches of having his face shot open,” a senior law enforcement source told the NYPost.

It's gonna get stupid-crazy now. Especially after Trump, all bloodied up, pumped his fist repeatedly and yelled "Fight! Fight!" as the Secret Service was dragging him off the stage.

And did I see a post somewhere that the shooter was ... a Republican? How strange, also, if that proves true.

 

I thought of this, and Ford, soon after.

But it's apples to oranges.

This election comes down to a handful of idiots in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Post debate, the numbers have gotten better for Trump in all three states, especially Pennsylvania.

This is exactly the thing that can swing the uncommitted idiots. I know one I think is similar to this in Ohio; suburban middle school teacher, with masters in education. Always politically middle of the road, doesn't really like Trump, but has leaned toward him because of the Culture Wars. May not believe most of what Fox News and the far right spews about it, but believes enough.

Biden's appearance, coupled with the sympathy/pumping fist toughness is exactly the kind of stuff that swing suburban people like him and get them to the polls in November.

I hope to be wrong. But I'm a lot less hopeful than I was at 6:20 p.m. Saturday night.

TR and Ford's circumstances were far different.

 

My primary hope at the moment is that Trump can't keep his mouth shut over this and goes absolutely full-psycho until he scares off a gazillion members of his own voting bloc because, "Man, this guy is just way too fucking unhinged this time around."
