Guests in a comedy Emmy noms for Gosling, Wiig and Rudolph as hosts (and Wiig and Rudolph are against each other for comedy actress). SNL as a whole is up for variety series in a two-man category with John Oliver's show.

Bowen Yang also got a nom for supporting actor in a comedy series, which seems crazy to me... except that it's also his third nom. Would not ever have guessed. Kenan has three noms too, with the only other full-time male cast members with noms being Bill Hader (2), Eddie Murphy (1) and... Alec Baldwin, with two noms and the lone win in that category for Trump in 2017. (He was the most famous nominee that year, beating out Matt Walsh and Tony Hale from Veep, Ty Burrell from Modern Family, Tituss Burgess from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Louie Anderson from Baskets.) Just some peak "weird Emmys bullshit" there.

I missed him when I was scrolling the list. Not that I'd be actively seeking him out.

Was just happy to see one of me and my wife's favorites, Only Murders in the Building, get so much acting love, half of them SNL-adjacent -- Martin Short, Steve Martin and guest favorite Paul Rudd (plus Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep and Da'vine Joy Randolph).

Well, Maya Rudolph has her schedule set for the fall.

Hopefully Alec Baldwin has a clear schedule now.

He does have the star power, but I kinda like JAJ in it. If I can have Baldwin's portrayal with Johnson's impression, that would be perfect.

Watching pieces of Kamala's Milwaukee rally today (Tuesday), and there were some clips where I could close my eyes and not know if it was Kamala herself or Maya as Kamala. Maya's Kamala has always been great, but that's damn impressive.

Baldwin's Trump or Fey's Palin were great, too, but those were more caricatures. Maya's Kamala is spot on, much like Jay Pharoah's Obama.

I'm no fan of Yang but the headline was a little clickbaity. It sounded like he meant the cringe came from working for a show that's so chronicled and criticized. Of course, if you don't like that, you can go do off-off-off-off-off Broadway or a dingy comedy club where nobody gives a shit.
